Joining us as the platform engineering manager, Lewis brings his strong experience in web application and API development to the flexEngage team. Welcome, Lewis!
Why did you decide to join flexEngage?
As an Orlando native, it’s exciting to join a startup local to the area, especially one with as much promise as FlexEngage has. Additionally, everyone from the company that I’ve interacted with has been friendly, genuine, and talented. I look forward to getting to know all of them better!
What are you most excited about at flexEngage?
I’m eager to get to know the team and start working to tackle hard problems which will allow the platform to meet our expanding business needs.
Can you give us a run-down of your previous experience?
I’ve been working in web application and API development for over ten years now, mostly in the JVM world, within various domains including reservation management, point of sales, customer relationship management, defense, and attraction ticketing. I enjoy working with modern distributed software which is scalable, fault-tolerant, and allows for delivering value to customers and users quickly.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
My six-year-old son does a pretty good job of keeping me busy but when I do find time for myself I love watching movies. From Citizen Kane to Hobbs and Shaw, I love immersing myself in the worlds created by the casts and crews. You can also occasionally find me on the tennis court.
What’s a random fact/talent about yourself?
Among other things, I’m an amature tinkerer. Last year I revived my wife’s old Xbox (the original one that actually looked like a box) by replacing a few bulging capacitors on the motherboard and swapping out the DVD-ROM.
