Janet Jaimes joins us as a Technical Writing Intern. Focusing on technical communications for her major, Janet is also exploring creative writing, with the goal of becoming an editor.
Why did you decide to join flexEngage?
I joined flexEngage because it will provide a wonderful learning and working environment for my future goals in the writing industry.
What are you most excited about at flexEngage?
I’m most excited for the opportunities and mentorship that flexEngage offers while I learn new skills and knowledge that will assist the company.
Can you give us a run-down of your previous experience?
The experience that I have is mostly from academic courses that have allowed me to expand my skills as a writer.
I am currently attending the University of Central Florida and will graduate in the May of 2022. I am majoring in Technical Communication and pursuing a minor in Creative Writing. I will also receive an Editing & Publishing Certificate when I graduate.
What are your goals for the future?
I want to become an Editor in the future. Right now, I just want to get as much experience as I can as a writer, either it being a Technical or Copywriter. Any new knowledge I believe is appropriate to getting a good start in my future goal.
What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
My hobbies consist of reading, writing, and hiking.
What’s a random fact/talent about yourself?
I enjoy sweets, preferably milk chocolates and Haribo gummies.
